It is easier I thought to get a good pattern on larger shells, have not tried 2.5” yet but 3’s were tuff to get a good round shell. That should not be an issue for you since you don’t make 3” shells because of your giant paws.
I would rent Russ out to you though if you decide you would like to make some, he’s just the right size!

Me I say decrease pole dia setting. and tape space setting. On my wasp mini to get a nice round 6" shell with the pole to spec, and size just right for mortor I ended up with the following:
shell dia = 5.41
pole dia = 5.75
tape space = 1.9 I use 1"
speed 10
number of layers 10 makes loose 12 is perfect
wraps = 12
% increase = .3
I have added to the work sheet will upload later.
The main reason for this sheet is a spot to keep track of your setting and results, and have base settings to use. Hopefully when a person is done you have a record of how to set up for that shell.
One other thing I have learned is change 1 setting at a time, run, look at results.

I would definitely like to come to the summer cottage. The main thing about getting good pole diameters is increasing or decreasing shell diameter. Ian

Kenny and I have been working on this also.
Your notes make sense, we are still struggling with pole diameters.
To my belief Ian and Ron are the pros in our group!
We could have a W.A.S.P learning session at the Summer Cottage mid to late January.
Both Ian and Ron were thinking of popping out sometime around then anyway.
What say yea, good men?
Wahoo Guy, you need to learn to use it as well!!

WASP set up, does this make sense to you? Tried to get all info all together on setting up a shell.
